WHEELING, W.Va. - Wheeling lineworkers Mackenzie K., Tyler C. and Jeff G. recently volunteered for an event that let young people see the equipment and tools they use on the job every day.
Holy Family Child Care and Development Center hosted its second annual Touch A Truck event on Saturday, August 5 at the Highlands Sports Complex. Children of all ages had the opportunity to sit in a variety of vehicles, including Appalachian Power’s skylift.
Touch A Truck was special for some of the employee participants, as it served as an educational experience for their own children.
Horns were honked, faces were painted and smiles were plentiful as children made their way around the lot checking out life-sized Tonka trucks and Matchbox vehicles.
