AEP SCHEDULES LIVE WEBCAST
OF QUARTERLY EARNINGS CALL

April 20, 2001

COLUMBUS, Ohio, April 20, 2001 - American Electric Power’s quarterly earnings conference call with financial analysts will be broadcast live over the Internet at 9:30 a.m. EDT Tuesday, April 24.


Once the call is completed, the audio will be archived and available on AEP’s Web site. To access the replay, click on "Investor Relations." Once in "Investor Relations," go to "Company Updates" and click on "Conference Call Webcast."


Minimum requirements to listen to broadcast:
