AEP OHIO RESTORES POWER TO MORE THAN 95 PERCENT OF CUSTOMERS
GAHANNA, Ohio, February 13, 2009 – AEP Ohio crews have restored power to more than 95 percent of the customers who lost power due to the strong winds that affected all parts of the company’s service territory late Wednesday. At the height of the storm, nearly 167,500 customers were without power. As of today, that number has been reduced to approximately 9,000 customers.
Estimated final restoration times for the areas still without power are as follows:
Athens – Athens, Marietta, Gallipolis and Pomeroy – Midnight Saturday, Feb. 14
Lancaster – Midnight Sunday, Feb.15
Wellston – Midnight Sunday, Feb. 15
Canton - Canton NE, New Philadelphia, Wooster – Midnight Friday, Feb. 13
Coshocton - Noon Saturday, Feb. 14
Canton South – Midnight Saturday, Feb. 14
Chillicothe – Seaman – Midnight Friday, Feb. 13
Chillicothe – Noon Sunday, Feb. 15
Chesapeake – Midnight Sunday, Feb. 15
Portsmouth and Ironton – Midnight Monday, Feb. 16
Columbus - Delaware, Columbus NE and SW – Midnight Saturday, Feb. 14
Columbus NW and SE – Midnight Sunday, Feb. 15
Newark - Cambridge – Midnight Saturday, Feb. 14
Newark, Mt. Vernon, Zanesville, Crooksville and McConnelsville - Midnight Sunday, Feb. 15
Ohio Valley - East Liverpool – Midnight Friday, Feb. 13
Steubenville and Belmont – Noon Saturday, Feb. 14
Wheeling and Moundsville, WV – Midnight Sunday, Feb. 15
