Appalachian Power Company (APCo) received approval from the Public Service Commission of West Virginia (PSC) to adjust base rates beginning June 1. This base rate change allows APCo to continue investing to build a more reliable electric grid in West Virginia while accounting for increased costs due to inflation.

Appalachian Power Company (APCo) is actively responding to a mineral oil release resulting from an equipment failure at its Wyoming Station in the Clear Fork Area of Wyoming County. Mineral oil is commonly used to cool electrical transformers.

APCo representatives and landowners met at recent open houses to discuss the Claytor-Floyd Transmission Line Rebuild Project. If approved by the Virginia State Corporation Commission (SCC), the project would replace 1940s-era infrastructure with modern equipment to increase electric reliability and reduce the need for frequent maintenance.
