Keeping kids on track in math

April 30, 2020

As remote learning continues for the remainder of the school year, the Energizing steM program, funded by the AEP Foundation, provides Imagine Math resources and tools to elementary students in Lincoln and Logan Counties. More than 1,927 elementary students, or 77%, have accessed the program since schools closed through the counties' remote learning plans.

The Education Alliance's Energizing steM program uses a two-part approach to strengthen math through Imagine Math's online tools and by engaging families through Community Math Nights.

Education Alliance's Energizing steM, funded by the American Electric Power Foundation, provides elementary students in Lincoln and Logan counties with an effective computer-based supplemental curriculum called Imagine Math to improve math outcomes over a three-year period. The Energizing steM project promotes a greater public understanding of the need for STEM, builds STEM career awareness, and provides a specific focus on the critical role of building strong math skills. The Education Alliance partnered with the Regional Educational Laboratory - Appalachia to offer community math nights that engage family members in supporting their child's math learning.
