COLUMBUS, Ohio, Oct. 27, 2010 – American Electric Power (NYSE: AEP) is seeking offers for the supply of coal to one or more of its generating stations.

AEP is seeking spot-coal delivery proposals for up to 50,000 tons of coal per month, delivered by rail, barge or truck beginning in January 2011 for up to 12 months. Additionally, AEP is seeking term-delivery proposals for the supply of up to 50,000 tons of coal per month, delivered by rail, barge or truck beginning in January 2012 and extending through December 2013. AEP is open to alternative pricing structures or other innovative, value-added concepts. Proposals with alternative terms will be accepted.
