Avoid plugging too many devices into one outlet.
Never place extension cords under rugs or furniture and avoid using them on a permanent basis.
All Outlets in the kitchen, bathroom and other potentially wet areas should be ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) protected.
Never use electrical devices, such as radios or hair dryers, in or near the bathtub.
If small children are present, safety plugs should be installed on all unused standard outlets. The National Electrical Code requires tamper-resistant receptacles in all new and renovated homes.
