Light a Life Program

The Appalachian Power Light a Life Program lends a hand to those who are experiencing financial hardships and need help to get back on their feet. Administered by the Salvation Army, the program helps families facing financial emergencies to heat and cool their homes.

You can apply for the Light a Life program at a local Salvation Army.

Giving to the Light a Life Program

Interested in donating? Just a few extra dollars a month can help a neighbor in need. PSO pays all administrative costs for the program so that all the proceeds can go to help those who need it most. All donations are used to assist limited-income families in Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Make a monthly donation through your bill

Sign up to donate an amount you choose from each bill. You can:

  • Choose a fixed monthly amount to donate, or
  • Round up your bill to the nearest whole dollar, donating the difference
