John Scalzo

John Scalzo is vice president, regulatory and finance, for Appalachian Power. He is responsible for the company's regulatory activities in Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. He also directs the company's business operations support group and is based at company headquarters in Charleston, W.Va.
Scalzo joined American Electric Power in 2002 as a staff accountant and was promoted to manager of corporate accounting. In 2010, he was named director of business operations support for Appalachian Power. In 2015, Scalzo accepted the position of director of regulatory services for West Virginia, and was promoted in 2018 to managing director regulatory and finance for the company.
Scalzo holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from The Ohio State University, a master's degree in business administration from Capital University, and is a certified public accountant.
